Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Strategic partnerships have become an essential element in organizing mega events, offering a collaborative approach to resource sharing, expertise pooling, and risk mitigation. In Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, where socio-economic challenges often impact large-scale event planning, partnerships between public and private entities have proven instrumental in ensuring event success. These collaborations facilitate access to funding, logistical support, and broader networks. According to Yusuf and Garba (2020), strategic partnerships enhance the quality and impact of mega events, promoting inclusivity and innovation. This study examines the effectiveness of such partnerships in organizing mega events in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, focusing on their role in overcoming logistical and financial constraints.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
